braided updo hairstyle for prom and weddings

Surely, proms and weddings are very special events in a person's life and no one should take such an event lightly. Where the amount of ideas out there, how does one pick out the best hairstyle that they can wear for their wedding or prom? Although it can be confusing and difficult, it really doesn't have to be, just be patient and search around a little. I am always looking for new tutorials myself and share them on this blog for you. Hopefully that takes  a lot of headache away from you.

While looking around the other day, i found this really great looking braided prom or wedding bun hairstyle. Needless to say, this one works really well with long hair and the results are really amazing as well. I would only wear updos like these for more formal events because they make you feel classier. Here are the steps that you will need to get this hairstyle going:

Step 1: Curl your hair with a 1 inch curling iron, then pin the hair up to set it

Step 2: Make a side part and clip away your sides

Step 3: Put the buttom half into a ponytail around your ear level

Step 4: Split the pony tail into 2 bundles

Step 5: Wrap the hair 2 to 3 times around 2 to 3 fingers on one side. This will form 2 curls. Pin both curls to secure it

Step 6: Do the same on the other side of your hair

Step 7: Undo the section that wasn't curled yet and apply heat protector to it

Step 8: Slit this section into 2 and clip away the top

Step 9: Curl the hair with a one inch curling iron and then pin them up to set it

Step 10:  Pull out the edges of the curls to make the hair bigger and puffier.

Step 11: Set the curls on top of the bun around the edges

Step 12: If you have long hair, we will need to get rid of it by forming more curls. Repeat until all the hair is pinned up in the back.

Step 13:  Undo the light side and twist it away from your face, then set it on top of the bun. Get it on top of all the other curls.

Step 14: On the heavy side, use extensions to make dutch braid

Step 15: Take the braid across the bun and that's it!

This tutorial sounds a lot harder than it really is but I assure you it's really easy to do. The video below explains in great detail each step that is involved with this hair tutorial!
